200th anniversary of the Battle of Borodino

Two centuries have passed from the largest and bloodiest single-day action of the French invasion of Russia, but the memory of the Russian generals and of the soldiers’ bravery is still alive. And New York is not an exception.


Not-for-profit organization “Shostakovich Cultural Programs” together with the Sunflower Educational Center and Institute for the English-Russian Bilinguism are happy to announce and invite you and your friends to the musical and literary evening to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Borodino.

Distinguished guests – descendants of the heroes of the Battle of Borodino


The program includes excerpts from the movies about the Patriotic War of 1812, romances and musical pieces of those times, excerpts from poems by Lermontov, Pushkin, Annenkov and others. The finishing accord of the celebrations will be the tasting of the “soldiers’ kasha”.
